This is loganmacleod.com, the website of Ken Morgan.
This website will serve a few different functions for me. Yes, technically it is a blog, but to me it's more than that. There isn't a theme or other agenda with this blog, it's just a place where I can document whatever I feel like. There will be some focus areas, indicated by the menu items listed, but I don't know what form those will take.
This is also a testing ground for me as I learn my way around Joomla! 1.6. Joomla has been my content management system of choice for the last 3 years or so with version 1.5.x, and with the release of 1.6.x it was time for me to get my head around the changes. So don't be surprised if there's a new feature one day and gone the next, or if the look and feel is always changing. I plan on doing a lot of tweaking, with my own blog entries as the test data.
So with that, enjoy loganmacleod.com.

Looking back at my blog, I've been lax. I've had no posts since the beginning of June. It's amazing how quickly the time goes, especially when you're busy.
It's not just the blog, but my fitness program as well. I have not tracked anything I've been eating at all. I ate what I want, drank what I want, and have not had any real exercise. The bad news is that I have not lost any more weight in the last two months or so.
The GOOD NEWS, however, is that despite my actions, I have not GAINED any at all. I'm right where I was two months ago, no more, no less.
Today is August 1st, and I am BACK ON PLAN and ready for more losses. 32" here I come.

What a year it's been. Over the last 15 months or so, I've reconnected to Scouting in a big way.
It had been about 8 years since I've been involved in Scouting in any meaningful way. The 100th Anniversary of Scouting in the United States, along with my troop's (Troop 16, Scranton, PA) 95th anniversary, got me back into the program. Since then I've become Pack Trainer for Pack 16, sitting on our district Cub Scout training committee, and am webmaster for both my pack (www.pack16scranton.org) and our local council websites (www.nepabsa.org).

First weigh in of June this morning. Knocked another 1.4 pounds off the scale. Sure, I was hoping for more, but I know what happened.
The short answer is two fold: Not Tracking and Coca-Cola. I've been VERY lax in tracking what I eat, and I've been letting soda sneak in too much. That changes NOW.
I'm very close, relatively speaking, to hitting 226. That will be two milestones for me. First, I will have lost 10% of my starting weight, and second, my BMI will be out of "Obese" and into "Overweight." The next goal after that will be 215, when I'm officially under my lightest weight the last time I did this.
First things first, 226, here I come.

When I restarted the website, I thought about how I wanted to organize it. In addition to Scouting, I also wanted to talk about books and movies, technology, and fitness. Not that I'm a health nut, but I am working toward getting generally healthier and I wanted a place to talk about it on occasion. Every so often, these categories overlap. This is such a time.
Part of my reason to get back in shape (if I was ever in shape to get back to) was one line in the Scout Oath, "To keep myself Physically Strong." Since getting back into Scouting just over a year ago, the line "Scouting Rounds a Guy Out" has been floating through my head. Of course Scouting develops well rounded young men, but it seems as we get older Scouting, and the great camp cooks it develops, tends to round us out physically.

Mixed feelings about my "official" weigh in this morning.
WI at 234.4 lbs. While that's down 1.6 lbs from last week, and after 3 weeks of either no change or going up 1 lbs, it's still frustrating. Sometimes I'll step on the scale during the week. Same time each day, first thing AM, for consistency's sake. Yesterday I was at 232.6, almost 2 lbs lighter that would have put my weekly loss to 3.4. I don't know if it was leftover pizza, or not as active as I could have been, or just my body holding on to water. Either way it was disappointing knowing where I could/should have been.
In the end, it's down. I should easily be able to get that 2 lbs back plus some for next week.
